This is the first caliper I've owned, and I have a feeling it'll be the only one I'll own for a very long time. This device feels very well-built (stainless steel), and it measures extremely accurately. The thumb wheel scrolls easily, and I love that they thought to build in a depth measurement function in addition to the usual internal and external measurement functions (there's also a "step" function, though I don't have use for that at this time). You can view the measurements in inches (decimals or fractions) or in millimeters, making it very easy to know exactly what size materials/spaces you're working with. The included carry case is made from thin but hard plastic and comes with a bit of foam in it. Better than nothing, for sure, but the real benefit of the case is that it has an instruction sheet attached to the inside.

Get rid of any other caliper you may have and get this one! This is by far one of the greatest things I own and it is used often. The digital calipers are so accurate, down to 1/64 decimals that I can't imagine not using a digital one. This particular caliper comes in a case for safe keeping. It is stainless steal, well made, and very easy to use. You will not be disappointed with this purchase!

The Accumaster digital caliper is a quality instrument and comes with a hard plastic case to keep it safe when not in use. I like the large digital read out screen and the ease of operation with the thumb roller to adjust to either inside or outside diameter readings depending on your needs. It also comes with a spare battery, which is a nice added feature. The operation is intuitive and easily turns on and off and switches from decimal inches to fractional inches or to a metric millimetre reading.

This caliper is sturdy, clearly marked and well made; provides inside and outside measurement capabilities. Comes in a storage box with easy to understand information concerning use...although the caliper features are very user friendly/intuitive by themselves. Large, easy to read display with multiple modes (fractions, decimals, millimeters); locking screw. Smooth movement.

Calculated Industries AccuMASTER Digital Vernier Caliper Stainless Steel 6 in. Tool Displays Fractions to 1/64 in Decimal Inches, Millimeters – There are a few things I really like about this digital caliper. Although, I own other digital calipers, that I use frequently, and dial-indicator calipers that measure in thousandths and fractions, there are features and details about the AccuMaster caliper that makes it better. First thing is the display. It is 5/8 inches tall and very easy to read. Displays on other calipers I own are anywhere from ¼” to 3/8”; still accurate, but harder to read. Next is the smooth operation; the jaws just glide when opening and closing to take measurements. My other calipers move okay, just not as smooth. This caliper is IP54 Certified which is moisture and dust resistant (similar to some I own) is useful in the shop which is dusty from sawing and sanding wood. The case is better than the cases from my other calipers. It is not a cheap afterthought and offers better protection by tightly holding the caliper, and it opens and closes nicely. One thing to note, the caliper has a micro-USB port with no information about its function. I contacted Calculated Industries customer support who said the port does nothing now, but may be used in future upgrades.

I found a reason to send my old-school caliper off to the adult version of the "Island of Misfit Toys"; not that the old one doesn't work, it's just not as good as the digital model. There's a host of things to like about this tool (points below shown in attached photos): 1) It includes a foam-lined, hard plastic case + an extra battery, 2) It's made of stainless steel and the digital display is resistant to water, oil, and dust intrusion, with the operative word being resistant, not impervious; the tape-scale is easier to read than that on the analog 3) At 6", it's larger than the 5" analog model; actually it'll measure to 6-1/8" 4) It can measure in fractions to 1/64", decimal inches or millimetres; the analog is inches-only with scales for 1/10" and 1/32" 5) It's accurate to 0.001" (0.02mm); Photo #3 shows it was spot-on for a USGA-compliant golf ball To save the battery, the unit turns off after 5 minutes of so of inactivity and the unit resets back to 0 upon power on; depending on one's perspective, this could be a blessing, curse, or both - no big deal I would recommend this product.

A must have for many hobbyists. Using a feeler gauge these calipers read perfectly down to my smallest gauge at .0015 of an inch which is plenty for 99% of us. Machinest might need a more expensive caliper for fine work but even they need a set of everyday calipers. These calipers come in a high quality plastic box with foam padding, instructions on the inside and even a spare battery which is a nice touch. Using the calipers is very easy with only 2 buttons. The thumb wheel works very well but has a tiny bit of play in it. The lock works well and wont allow for any movement when tightened. Includes an auto off so you wont come back to a dead battery. The overall fit and finish is excellent and the markings are easy to see although the metric side is a bit smaller. Has paid for itself in restoring an old Italian car I have. I use the calipers to measure inside and outside diameter of all the hoses to find standard parts to avoid importing OEM.

Easy to use and accurate enough for the home do it yourselfer. The large digital display shows measurements in decimals, fractions and metric, is easy to read and the slide locks for convenience. The caliper reads both inside and outside dimensions as well as being able to measure depth. The tool is made of stainless steel and appears to be very sturdy. This tool really is a must if you are trying to match a fastener to a drill bit size. This is a good quality measuring tool and I highly recommend it to anyone with the DIY bug.

I like that this digital caliper has fractions. On my old analog plastic caliper, I have to measure how many 64ths there are and then look at the look up table on the back to get the fraction with the smallest denominator. I like that it uses the common CR2032 battery rather than the smaller button cell battery. I like the sturdy plastic case. Overall a good product.

Impressive for the price! The first thing is, “Are they accurate?” Yes! I’ll show you how I tested them. From my photos, you’ll see I have several such inexpensive digital calipers, along with other premium metrology tools. I used my certified Starrett square to test the accuracy of these DIGITAL calipers. The blade of Starrett squares is exactly one-inch wide. So I measured the blade with these, and sure enough, they say exactly ONE INCH. The next test uses the precision etched markings along the blade. These calipers have nicely finished points that fit into those etchings. I measured from the 2-inch mark to the 4-inch mark. Again, these calipers displayed a perfect 2-inch difference. Other nice features: These come with a sturdy fitted plastic case. The case closes securely with TWO clasps. They include a spare battery! One battery is already installed. You need only remove the paper contact protector to power these ON. The finish is very good, especially for this low price point. The edges are crisp but NOT too sharp, as with other inexpensive tools. The rolling action of the thumb wheel is smooth, with no “hiccups” in its travel. These have an “auto-off” to save battery life too. Criticisms? I have NO complaints whatsoever, but I should point out that the Home Depot description is wrong. They describe these as Vernier calipers. These are NOT “Vernier” calipers. These are DIGITAL calipers. Vernier calipers use a Vernier scale. These do not. That isn’t a problem at all, because DIGITAL calipers like these are much more convenient for most tasks and DIGITAL calipers are what I wanted. It’s just a mistake made by someone in IT at Home Depot. I can forgive such small mistakes since they have millions of products to list, and not all IT people know a lot about tools. Bottom line? These are PLENTY accurate enough for woodworking, measuring drill bits and fasteners and joinery, and for adjusting woodworking machines and jigs. Machinists may need premium Japanese, German, or British calipers. But even super precise machinists still need an inexpensive but accurate caliper for daily use. Given all these premium features and high accuracy at such a modest cost, I think these are an excellent budget choice.

Calculated Industries AccuMASTER Digital Vernier Caliper Stainless Steel 6 in. Tool Displays Fractions to 1/64 in Decimal Inches, Millimeters does what it says with accuracy. I'm not a machinist so I'm not in that realm, but for someone that needs an accurate caliper for the random bolts and holes you come across, trying to find a bolt or drill bit to match, this is a run back and forth time saver! If you work on machines you know what I mean, especially if it is custom. It feels heavy and well made. Nice and idiot proof with the read out telling you the size. In the pics I used an old feeler gauge made in Germany to test the accuracy and a hole sizer gauge, right on the money.

Easy and accurate measuring. I already had a non-digital dial caliper, but it was difficult for aging eyes to read. And it’s the digital display that makes the “AccuMASTER Digital Vernier Caliper” so good! It’s easy to read, and also easy to use. One button turns it on and off. The other button toggles between the three display settings: Fractions (to 1/64”), Decimal Inches, and Millimeters. Readability is meaningless without accuracy, so I tested the caliper with items of known dimensions. I measured the outside of a 1/4" hex bit and the inside of a 14mm socket. All measured perfectly - see pics. The fitted case protects the device well. A spare battery is included, along with one already installed in the unit. It’s a CR2032 “button” cell which is readily available and inexpensive. Whatever your measuring needs, this is a great addition to your toolbox. Calculated Industries Model # 7410

My Calculated Industries AccuMASTER Model 7410 caliper was delivered earlier today. I am not a machinist, but this seems like a very nice caliper. It has an easy to read display that shows inches (accurate to 1/1000 inch), millimeters and fractions (accurate to 1/64 inch). This allows the micrometer to be used for fine woodworking, metal work or any activity that requires fine measurements and tolerances of up to 1/1000 of an inch. The tool can for both inside and outside measurements. And, there is a handy locking screw that can be tightened to maintain a constant measurement for transfer from one piece to another. I was surprised to find that the caliper came with a battery installed as well as a spare. It uses the common CR2032 button cell which should last a long time since the caliper has auto shutoff. There is a Micro USB port on the side which I assume is for programming or calibration since the CR2032 is not rechargeable. And finally, the caliper fits nicely in the foam padded sturdy plastic case. I would recommend the Calculated Industries AccuMASTER Model 7410 caliper for any DIYer who needs to make precise measurements and doesn’t want to spend a fortune.

The AccuMaster 6 inch digital caliper has a lot of Fetcher that have Advantages giving me a greater Benefit over my old caliper. I will highlight only a few Benefits I get when using the AccuMaster caliper. The first is the stainless steel body over the composit body caliper I used to use, as I now have less ware and tear when using it often. The second Benefit is the locking screw to hold my measurement as with my old one when I go from measuring something to moving it to compare or mark another object. Before, I would have to hold the caliper with my fingers most often the calipers would move open or would close causing an bad transfer of the reading. And, a third Benefit is the AccuMaster comes with a foam-lined case and not a plastic display bubble card that proctects the caliper. I am pleased with this caliper and would recommend the AccuMaster for your toolbox.

I’m a homeowner/DIY’er, no longer a professional mechanic, so this review of the Accumaster 7410 digital caliper comes from an amateur’s point of view. I’ve a decades-old manual caliper in my toolbox, and these new digital tools provide a huge improvement in readability. The display is large and clear (see photo). Fractions, decimal inches, or millimeters can be displayed. The tool is splash resistant (water), and resistant against oil and/or dust. I don’t think it would be wise to immerse the tool in any type of liquid, but oily hands are unlikely to cause problems. The box lists a two-year warranty against defects. The 7410 offers a nice fit and finish and the moving bits slide easily, without any rough spots. You do want to zero the tool out before using it. I tend to zero it out frequently when on a job. It’s probably overkill on my part (and a waste of battery power!) but it takes only a moment to do and then I’m assured that the caliper is giving me an accurate reading. The “User Sheet” is in the lid of the case, and instructions are minimal. There’s a data port in the caliper (see photo) but no mention of it in the instructions at all. As a DIY’er, no longer a pro mechanic, I won’t be using the caliper in conjunction with saving readings to a laptop – but it would be nice if details on the capability was included with the tool. The case itself is cushioned and offers storage room for the (included) spare battery after the battery packaging is trimmed (see photo). One downside on the case – the hinges are plastic. I don’t know how many cycles the hinges will last – plastic fatigue may be a problem in the future. Piano hinges with metal pins would be a better design. Of course, Accumaster has to meet their intended market price but, to me, better case hinges would be worth any small increase in price. YMMV. The battery slot is secured with a threaded knob; there is little likelihood of the battery coming out unintended. There is an auto-shutoff, but for long storage you may want to remove the battery. Should the battery fail in use you can always go back to the “old-fashioned” way and read the increments on the tool itself. The 7410 is a welcome addition to my kit and I don’t see any reason that it shouldn’t receive full marks. HTH Regards, Jim

Accurate, excellent construction - all stainless steel (6" or 150mm max). Very large easy to read display that will auto power off in 5 minutes that is IP54 (dust ingress, and water splash resistant). You can eyeball the printed scale to 0.01 if needed. All the basic functions I need; internal, external, depth, locking screw and a knurled thumb wheel. English, metric or fractions (in X/64). Nice secure storage box, instruction are in the lid. Runs on a single coin cell (CR2032) installed, and a spare one on the case! Accuracy specified as: 0.001 inch (0.02mm); Resolution 1/64" (0.01mm) 0.0005 inch There is a micro USB jack in the top, presumably for logging measurements to a quality control application. No documentation about this feature and I don't need it for my use.

This versatile digital caliper can be used for external, internal, depth, step measurements and can be zeroed anywhere along the scale for differential measuring. Compared to dial calipers, this digital version displays readings that are more accurate and is simply faster to use. The digital fraction caliper has a measuring range of up to six inches and features a large LCD display for easy reading, thus reducing the risk for me making an error when recording measurements. This products polished finish additionally provides a smooth sliding movement to ensure accurate positioning during use. The digital LED display instantly converts between decimal inches, millimeters and inch fractions with the touch of a second button; this makes it convenient for me to use on a broad range of projects. Also worth noting, is the "auto shut-off" feature to reduce battery usage and the tools IP54 rating for resistance to splashing water, oil and dust. When it becomes necessary to replace the battery, remove the knurled lock screw on top of the LCD display before sliding out the battery tray.

Everything about this tool says quality. It is constructed of a high grade of stainless steel for durability and accuracy and as all precision tools should be stored in a protective case, Calculated Industries provides one to store your calipers in when not in use. It has all the features you would expect to find in a set of calipers: *Jaws for inside measurements *Jaws for inside measurements * Depth gauge Precision measurements of the above are displayed on the easy to read digital scale with an accuracy of 1/64" ( 0.0156) and may be displayed at the touch of a button as a fraction or decimal. It is IP54 certified (Splashing water, oil and dust resistant.

There have been many times over the years that I have wondered: how far apart are those; how big is that, etc.? It was easier to get the tape measure out and get a good approximation than to run to the store or to borrow a caliper. I finally gave up and got a caliper. Now I will know the exact answer to the questions. This is a beautiful tool that will let you see the answer not only in the metal, but in numerical values on a screen. Pushing the function button you can get inches or mm and in several different modes of them including fractions and decimal points (ie.1/64 or 3.965). It also comes with a spare button battery.

AccuMASTER Digital Vernier Caliper stainless steel six inch tool displays fractions to a sixty-fourth and in decimal inches and millimeters. This does it all = inside, outside, depth……Set accuracy of your table saw to a thousandth of an inch. Using the thumb screw locks everything down after taken the measurement. Digital and analog measurements, two year warranty, auto shut-off to extend the life of the lithium 2030 battery (there is even an extra battery included). This is a nice addition to my other AccuMaster measuring devices, which have all proven to be reliable and accurate. There is a USB port that is not mentioned in the instructions. My son says that it will recharge the Lithium cell.

The AccuMaster Digital Vernier Caliper was useful in locating and sizing the new bolt holes for the mounting plates on my metal gazebo frame. I relocated the gazebo to a new spot in the back yard and required precise bolt sizes and location for placing the new mounts. I was able to measure across the footing plates and determine the new bolt size required for the new mounts spacing very simply. I placed the hardened stainless steel caliper tips on the screw heads shafts and screw heads center. It was quick and easy to read the large, clear digits on the liquid crystal display. This was a much easier method for me than trying to read the tiny graduations on a small rule. I, then used the caliper the mark the new locations for the bolts in the mounting plates. I like the easy lock and release slide of the caliper and the speed and accuracy of the large digit read-out.

The AccuMASTER caliper model 7410 is not a Vernier caliper; it’s a digital caliper. A Vernier caliper would require that the user read the finest graduations using a Vernier scale. There are inch and millimeter scales on the caliper, but the digital readout in decimal inches, millimeters or fractional inches obviates the need to read the scales for measurements. § I’ve been using the caliper for a few weeks. It’s been very helpful to me while I’ve been sizing machine screws, metal rods and other small parts. I really like that it has a fractional inch readout, with fractions down to 64ths. It saves me from having to convert decimal inches to fractions. I had a large assortment of metric screws that I’ve been able to identify and organize thanks to the metric scale functionality. § The caliper has an auto-shutoff that actuates after about 5 minutes of non-use. That’s a nice feature that extends the battery life. The slide mechanism and thumb wheel work smoothly, and the locking screw holds the caliper in position with a very small amount of finger torque. The plastic case included with the caliper is handy for storing the instrument. § The caliper has a micro USB port on top of the caliper display, but according to Calculated Industries customer support, there is no functionality for the port. Many calipers use a port such as that to connect to a datalogger. Customer Support told me that they are working on some type of functionality for the port, but they didn’t say if it would be possible to add this functionality to my caliper. § Caliper was made in China.

A great digital caliper for use in measuring dimensions both inside and outside. Digital screen is clear and easy to read and the caliper is light weight and has the ability to be locked so if measuring in a hard to get at place you can lock the caliper and remove to an area where you can read the dimension. I would recommend this to any mechanic or machinist.

Super handy tool with easy readout in 3 different scales, plus nice extras like the case and extra battery. I have an old fashioned analog vernier caliper which I have never gotten the hang of reading. The process is similar to reading a slide rule. Seriously. You need good eyesight and have to do a little math and interpolation. So, it ended up in the back of my drawer, only rarely used. This tool moves us into the 21st century and is really want you want. It reads in inch fractions, inch decimals and millimeters. For me, they all come in handy. Carpentry - inch fractions Car work - inch decimals Bicycle work - millimeters Most importantly, it is extremely easy to use. You close the tool and zero it, then extend it enough to grip the object and use the thumb wheel to snug up. Instant reading on a LARGE display. No math, no high powered glasses required. You can grip inside or outside the object. There is also a depth rod that is easy to use at the back end. And there is a "step reading" which I had to look up and turns out it can be handy too. I was clued into this by the short instructions. I had to look it up to understand how it works, and once understood, is very easy. I'm not going to take a star off for the instructions being so spare. The reality is there are plenty of instructions on the internet. Nice touches include an EXTRA CR2032 battery. This is a very common battery easy to obtain, but always nice to have extras. The case is also compact, handy, and protective. And, the device also has auto-turn off. My attached photos show some bike work I was doing. I need to assure the diameter of my handlebars before I bought new grips. That was a large reading in mm. Then, I had to check my shift cable to see if it was a 1.2 or 1.1mm cable. This did the job perfectly for this small reading. Overall, this is a nice mid-range tool. It isn't cheaply made, nor is it super high precision. For most of us, it is perfect. Designed in the USA. Made in China.

Upon opening the box, it was packaged very well. The caliper came in a nice hard case. There was a spare battery included also. The unit itself is very well built. It is very sturdy and the marking on the ruler are easy to use. After a quick read over the instructions, I tried it out. What i like about this product is the large display and also the fractions in inches and millimeters. This product is easy to use for inside, outside, step and depth measurements. The accuracy is 0.001 with this 0-6 inch and 1-150 mm caliper. It comes with 1 extra battery and case. Made of high grade s/s and easy to read display. I could go on about the other thing this product has but i think you get the point. I have a repair and wood working shop in my barn, this comes in handy for measuring metal and wood parts. When you are working on small projects(small screws, nuts and parts) this is the item you will need.

CALCULATED INDUSTRIES ACCUMASTER DIGITAL VERNIER CALIPER STAINLESS STEEL 6 IN. This is a really nice tool. It is built really well. It's stainless steel not plastic like others I've seen. I displays in fractions, decimals and millimetres. It says it's splashing water, oil and dust resistant. I guess you couldn't soak in water, not that I ever would need to. Probably because of the battery. It is reliable to 1000 of an inch.It also comes with an extra battery and nice foam lined sturdy case. Very happy with this product. I highly recommend it.

The Calculated Industries AccuMASTER Digital Vernier Caliper Stainless Steel 6 in. Tool has the features I need most! EASY to read large LCD display, very nice veneer scale with fractional and millimeter markings, very smooth adjustment operation, readings in fractions-decimals-inches-millimeters and accuracy down to the.0005 inch! Fractional read outs in 128/inch would have been nice, but when metal working, I always use millimeters for ultimate accuracy! The caliper is solid sturdy Stainless Steel and with the protective carry case, should last for many decades of use! I've used several digital 6" caliper brands in the past and find the durability, finish and repeatable accuracy of the CI to be right up there with the best and a great value!!!

I have been looking for a caliper tool with a gauge to help me with the sharpening of my chains for my chainsaw. This one is even better because it has a digital display that shows in large enough numbers so that is easy to see without reading glasses. The gauge has an easy on/off button, and the measurements can be displayed in inches, millimeters, and fractions of an inch. There is two measuring calipers for both big and small measurements. It came with a nice carrying case and a spare battery.
