Fishing Fin-Addicts Charters

This trip is so bad I am writing this review while still ON the boat. "Captain" was an hour + late due to "truck trouble". The deck hand tries, but he's over matched and unprepared to say the least. The only good thing from this trip is the beer we brought and the 5 fish in the livewell. Our group lost 3 big fish due to faulty tackle. Joke. Joke. JOKE. I wouldn't fish with them again for free. Cheers.

DON'T GO OUT ON MISS BECK.

My friends and I are not wealthy people. In order to take off from work, line up sitters etc., we have to save and manage our funds accordingly in order to take a vacation.

So here we are...in PANAMA CITY BEACH ready to have a little fun deep sea fishing. Scrounging up enough people to go to reduce the cost to $140.00/per person we are buzzing with hopes of catching more fish than we can carry home.

After putting our money together, we paid our fees for a 6 hour trip charter on the MISS BECK. However, due to deteriorating weather conditions and about 20 minutes of fishing, the captain cancels mid-trip promising a return trip for the next day. Next day comes, he cancels due to poor weather. Unfortunately, we'd explained to the captain that we would have to return home and wouldn't be able to make the make up trip. Understanding, that there are costs of fuel, deckhand, etc., we'd negotiated for a fair refund. On the day of refund, there is no Captain. For three days he's unavailable until today, via txt message stating that he was underpaid, that we'd paid only for a 4 hr trip, and/or that he's not sure we even paid at all - all the while laughing cynically throughout the conversation.

BOTTOM LINE: He does the community of PANAMA CITY BEACH a disservice, as well as the hard working patrons that actually have to work and save for a few days off. A meager $140.00 is not the issue, it's the principal and the non-existent integrity of CAPTAIN MIKE MANDEVILLE on the MISS BECK that should have the PANAMA CITY BEACH community outraged for leaving such a bad taste in the mouths of their tourists. Therefore, if you're going to spend your hard earned money, spend it with someone who can appreciate it... Not with someone who'll manipulate it, like CAPTAIN MIKE MANDEVILLE on the MISS BECK.

This is the worst charter I have ever been on. When we got there him and some other guy were pouring out beer cans from the night before. We thought maybe the cans were from the charter the previous day so we went ahead and decided to go. Well let me tell you this entire trip was a joke. He had a guy that was suppose to be a deck hand..let's just say he was highly intoxicated. We had to babysit him the entire time until he eventually passed out. He spent over an hour trying to "repair " a hole in the live well with grocery bags and hvac tape. Epic fail obviously. Lol. We was told we were going straight out ,2 hours, at least 15 miles off shore. Instead we went about 7 miles at best off shore. Turns out that "Miss Beck" has seen here better days. Bathroom .........disgusting! Bedrooms? Yeah right. Junk rooms. Also turns out that one engine is blown and the other is near death. That's why we didn't go out as far. All this would be fine with a price deduction but that's when things get real intersting. Unfortunately we paid ahead of time. Which is standard. But luckily Capt. Mike ( term Captain used loosely) didn't collect from the other couple until after. Obviously once we got back to shore the other couple refused to pay. Capt. Mike called the police which told him to take it to small claims court. Jerk off. So long story long, we didn't catch many fish. Many more stories about the deck hand. His name was "WEAVER" Evidently because of the way he walked lol.
After the epic fail! Of Weaver repairing the live well, he proceeded to fish his self. This was comical. He continuously tangled up the other poles and failed miserably as a deck hand. Once he was totally wasted and the boat was over heating, Weaver proceeded to the top deck to Pass Out. Oh yeah , he also kept a RedSnapper that was out of season. He cleaned it right there on the boat and cooked it in the microwave! Lol. So much more. WORSE FISHING CHARTER EVER AND TO FINISH WHAT I HAVE TO SAY WE BROUGHT BACK NO KEEPERS..NONE..PAID FOR A FISHING CHARTER TO COME BACK WITH NOTHING!! !
CAPTAIN MIKE ON THE MISS BECK - YOU GUYS ARE A JOKE! BUYER BEWARE.I would give negative 0 if I could. Be Warned...Stay Away from this charter!!

WARNING!!! DO NOT Attempt to do business with this man. He's completely unreliable and will waste your time and money. I showed up w my fiancé and three kids to find out that Captain Mike "accidentally" double booked our trip. So, he offered to take us out two days later and give us an "extra hour". I suspect this guy took a longer trip after accepting our trip because it offered him more money. I'm a kind hearted guy who believes in second chances, so I took him up on the offer for rebooking our trip two days later. Surprise!! He NO SHOWED!!! Fortunately, I used a booking service who refunded my money and we found another fishing guide in time to schedule another trip.

You can not trust this guy and I would never recommend doing business with him.

Where to start.got up 5am to meet captain mike at the boat Miss Beck. I had reserved the entire boat for my family and friends to our surprise three more groups showed up booked for same day same time. He seemed to be so confused stating the holiday had him thrown off a day,but wait that was last week. We stood around for 30 minutes while "Captain" Mike was apologizing to the others on over booking. Afterwards his deck hand apparently known as Weaver from the other review I only wish I read prior started randomly hoseing off the boat with the water hose talking about how fun it is. Then we waited another 30 minutes only to find out there was no bait. This story could go on and on but needless to say we didn't stick around. I think this boat and crew could be a very unsafe place to be. Beware....-0 is not allowed so I have to give a 1

Overall great experience! Caught some quality fish for a four hour trip! Would give it 5 stars if the deck hand had been faster on bait, but what can you do when you're just catching fish left and right! Would go again on a longer trip for sure!

True disaster. Booked as a split charter for this am, June 22, 2016. We were called yesterday afternoon by Tiffany and asked if we could move the charter to June 23. Her explanation was convoluted but she mentioned a man who wanted on the charter today. The weather and water forecast was perfect for today so I shared reservations with switching. Tiffany said she would check the forecast for June 23 and get back with me. I never heard back from her. I DID receive a call from Mike at 10p asking to reschedule the trip because one of his deckhands "got shitfaced" during the charter yesterday and he was looking for another. When I pressed him on the issue, he mentioned, as Tiffany had, about a man who had paid for the whole boat. My option was to reschedule or fish today and keep no fish. I had reserved my trip in good faith with my credit card and was irate that my trip could be sold out from under me. I cancelled and feel grateful to have been able to....

Attempted to go fishing in Panama City FL on Miss Beck on June 23 2016. Showed up at 5:30am for 6:00am departure as requested by the booking guy. Unlike the other boats, Miss Beck appeared empty and didn't have any activity. I promptly called their number from the sign and it went to voicemail. Then a few minutes later the deckhand emerged from the cabin of the boat - it looked like maybe he was living on the boat and had just woke up. The deckhand indicated the captain wasn't there yet and that he would call the captain. He said the captain was on the way and should be there any minute. In the mean time we loaded our stuff in the cabin of the boat and waited. At about 6:15 the captain finally strolls up with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, looking like he'd been out all night partying. When I pointed out he was late he indicated he had truck trouble and began mouthing saying there was no paycheck worth listening to us complain about his tardiness and that we could just get off the boat so we did exactly that. The captain then stated he would give our deposit back, but he had to go to the bank which didn't open until 8:30, so we could come back to get it. When we went back to get our deposit then he decided he wasn't going to refund the deposit so we didn't get our deposit back. After this experience I started reading similar reviews here and am very glad we ended up not going on his boat. I had my children fishing with us and they would have been extremely uncomfortable around the chain smoking crew and smelly cabin of the boat. Also the boat was very run down and in bad shape, it was obvious no money was going back into the care of the vessel. Buyer beware.

WORST CHARTER EVER!!! BUYERS BEWARE!!! To start off the captain was 2 hours late. Which we heard around the docks was a normal thing. When he did arrive he barely said a word to us. RUDE. When we finally boarded after having to wait another 30 mins, the boat was total junk. There was a generator strapped on the front of the boat... ? The bathroom was disgusting! ! Ladies BEWARE. Everything was falling apart. Because he was so late We then had to fuel the boat. The deckhand Mike was the only thing that made it enjoyable. He could see our frustration and did the best he could to make it better. We hardly came back with any fish and still not a word from the captain. I don't know what his problem was but we definitely wanted some money back. Which we were rudely refused. This boat was very UNSAFE!! I would not recommended or suggest this boat to anyone. The captain and the boat was a major risk for your life! I wish I could give 0 stars but it won't let me. Do not go on this boat!! Run.. Run far away.
