Boat ride was fine and took off on time, but "Captain Al" did not ever really seem warm and inviting. This boat doubles as a fishing boat, and we were promised that all fishing tools and displays would be removed, but this was not the case. When telling us about our boat trip, he said we only had 2 hours, but had booked a 3 hour ride. he did not look pleased. After arriving back to the dock, the entire party made sure to clean up our food containers and even made sure empty bottles and cans were all thrown away. After going to pay for the boat ride, there were several additional undisclosed charges. It did not seem that Captain Al was honest and was trying to make a quick buck, adding costs for ice and parking. This was never disclosed in the original confirmation. Unfortunately, yelp does not allow 0 stars, so gave 1 star.

Went with Captain Al this past weekend for a bachelorette. He was great! However... you must know this is totally a fishing boat! The fishing pole holders will be on the boat all over and fishing lures all over the place. We were very shocked when we first arrived. We made the best of the situation and Al and Mike made sure we had a good time! We did get charged for a $55 clean up fee at the end which was ridiculous because we made sure to clean up after ourselves and the boat was filthy to begin with

I chartered with Captain Al for my sister's Bachelorette Party (for the Navy Pier firework show) and we had a blast. Captain Al and his deckhand Jose were so polite, helpful, and fun!
The girls had a blast and I couldn't have asked for a better time. :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - E. L.Downers Grove, IL024Jun 22, 2012
We paid for a sport fishing charter, were told one price. When we arrived on the boat they informed us that would have to charge us more. Everything is extra.

My had booked a party of 6 for an afternoon of salmon fishing out of Burnham, harbor in Chicago. The boat was neat & clean, we left on time for a 6 hour trip. We were excited at the prospect of catching several fish, hopefully one for each member of the party. We went out to about 100 feet of water. We were pretty much skunked. we caught 1 trout. The captain did not seem interested in catching fish. I think he figured if he got us out on the water that was all that we was responsible for. We stayed in about the same location for 5 or so hours. Very disappointing. I'll have to find some one else the next time we do this. The cost for the six of us was a bit over $1,000. Not a cheap afternoon.

Captain Al and his entire operation are a greedy and spiteful company. I thought it would be fun to have a chartered boat for the 4th of July, but when my uncle expectantly passed away a week before I called to cancel the reservation. I found out later that Captain Al charged my credit card hundreds of dollars for a boat I never stepped foot on. When I called to complain about the charge, the receptionist who answers the phones rudely replied, "Well, why didn't your friends go on the boat?" -- I don't know, maybe because my friends aren't a-holes who would go on a chartered boat that I paid for, without me -- I have yet to resolve this issue with the company and it has been 8 months. So basically, I've spent hundreds of dollars to have an obnoxious 5 minute conversation with a receptionist. I know business is business, but what happened to basic human decency?

They never informed me of their policies (in person or in writing) and fraudulently deceived me out of $300. The captain didn't return my phone calls and has subsequently made things extremely difficult for me since they stole $300 from me.

What a piece of trash captain and company. We went out for a half day fishing with my girlfriend and two other friends while in Chicago - I am in the travel business and this guy is a BIG joke. He really does not know how to fish and his boat is one step up from a sunken relic. His boat smelled like feces the entire time because his toliet was backed up - the women on the boat were not happy. STAY AWAY from this fake fisherman and his sunken "treasure".
