Ask and you shall receive. That was the case for the Panama City Police Department as they applied to win 50 personal protective equipment kits.

Thursday, Aftermath Services awarded the kits to officers.

Law enforcement agencies across the nation applied to win and Aftermath Services wanted to honor PCPD because the department lost a lot of supplies and safety equipment to Hurricane Michael.

The kits include body suits, gloves, arm sleeves, a mouth mask, safety glasses, and many more items to keep our officers safe.

"So we would use these in scenes where there's been some violence or there's biohazards present and the officers would use these to protect themselves when they go into those scenes also to not contaminate the scene further by walking around in them without protection on," said Panama City Police Department Captain Paul Powell.

This award allows the police department to equip officers at no cost to the taxpayers.
