FORT WALTON BEACH — One man was injured after the pickup truck he was driving crashed into the wall of Jimmy's Jukebox bar, shattering the window and damaging the building.

The crash was reported at 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Lewis Turner Boulevard and North Beal Extension in Wright, according to initial reports. The bar abuts the Country Corner Food Store.

Initial reports indicated the driver may have had health problems that caused the crash. The man was lying beside his GMC Sierra and a pile of bricks from the building as emergency officials attended to his injuries.

Although Jimmy's Jukebox typically is open on Thursdays, an employee told bystanders "We're closed."

Cindy Thompson, who owns the bar, said nobody inside the bar was injured. Thompson said she was outside when the crash occurred.

"It all happened very fast," she said.

Thompson said Jimmy's Jukebox would be boarded up and closed for the night. She was unsure when it would reopen.

The victim's condition was not immediately known.

Florida Highway Patrol, Fort Walton Beach Fire Department, and the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident.
