A Bay County charter school will be expanding and relocating to a new campus next school year.

The Palm Bay Education group is adding an elementary curriculum for up to 300 students.

The new school along with Palm Bay Prep Academy, the existing secondary curriculum, will move to Balboa Avenue, where North Bay Haven Charter Academy is currently located.

Executive Director Carla Lovette said so far about 140 students have registered for the new school.

“It’ll be a nice transition. Many times the transition from elementary to middle and middle to high is very difficult for students so ours will be able to still stay in the same property with the people and the facilities that they are already familiar with,” Lovette said.

The school will hold an open house Thursday, May 4th for people to meet Principal Lendy Willis, who is currently working at Oakland Terrace Elementary. It begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Saint Andrews Boulevard campus.
