Full match player ratings below:

Andriy Lunin—6: Poor goalkeeping on the first goal conceded. Needs to be 100% secure coming off his line and left the goal gaping open. Later made a bizarre decision to step out on a Lewandowski opportunity but fortunately the Pole’s shot went wide. Improved as the game wore on and did make an important save on the goal-line Yamine Lamal touch.

Lucas (Cafucas) Vazquez—10: What a performance. Arguably his best ever performance in a Madrid shirt over 90 minutes. Absolutely toyed with Cancelo both offensively and defensively. Was involved in every goal: drew the penalty for the first after a masterful dribbling sequence, scored the equalizer beating Cancelo at the back post, and provided a perfect assist on the game-winner. A performance Cafu would be proud of.

Rudiger—8: Strong shift from Madrid’s ever-reliable center back.

Tchouameni—8: Another match at center back and another positive showing. His ability on the ball and vertical passing from the deepest position on the field helps Madrid progress quickly and get out of tight spots when being pressed by the opposition.

Camavinga—5.5: Struggled defending Lamine Yamal. Too often was caught flat footed and square when defending the teenager, who blew past Cama on multiple occasions. Did provide some positive overloads on the left and was good in possession.

Fede Valverde—8: The relentless consistency and incredible engine that the Uruguayan shows match after match has made him one of the very first names on the team sheet.

Toni Kroos—6.5: Heat map had the German looking like a center back and left back as he was the first option to start Madrid’s play out of the back.

Luka Modric—7.5: Carlo Ancelotti called Luka Modric one of the most in form players in the team and it’s hard to argue with that logic. The Croatian was quick to latch on to the “second ball” and was always an outlet to break through Barca’s press.

Jude Bellingham—8: Getting back to his very best. Whether it was the L-turn skill move to deceive Lamine Yamal and then gallop up field or the crunching tackle on Joao Cancelo near the sideline, Jude did a bit of everything. A bit of everything also included scoring the game-winning goal. The Englishmen will remember that moment forever.

Vinicius Junior—6.5: The Brazilian caused so many problems for Barcelona but his finishing was lacking. Likely should have had a couple of goals in this game. Scored a penalty but missed two big chances.

Rodrygo—5.5: Carlo has made it a guessing game each match on where Rodrygo will play. The Brazilian started on the right but roamed both centrally and left throughout the match.

Substitutions:

Brahim Diaz—7: “Hockey-assist” for the game winning goal after dribbling through pressure in zone 14 and dishing the ball wide to Lucas.

Fran García—7: Replaced Camavinga who was struggling to defend Yamine Lamal and was on a card. Provided width and stretched the Barcelona backline with his runs in behind. Good confidence boosting minutes for Fran.

Eder Militao—6.5: Crunching tackle early into his cameo that referee deemed clean. Had a few important headed clearances and gradually getting back up to speed.

Joselu—6: Produced a little dummy or subtle touch on the Jude Bellingham game-winning goal but more importantly his run attracted multiple Barca defenders to leave Jude free at the back post.
