Crochet Waffle Stitch WRITTEN PATTERN

USA STITCH TERMS

Hook Size(s): according to your yarn

For my sample pictured in this pattern, I used Cygnet Kiddies Kaleidoscope Yarn with a 4mm Hook.

Abbreviations:

  • Ch = Chain

  • DC = Double crochet

  • FPDC = Front post double crochet

  • Rep = Repeat

  • St = Stitch

Pattern for Waffle Stitch:

Foundation Row: Ch multiples of 3 for your desired width and add 2.

Row 1: Starting in the third ch from the hook, make 1 DC in each ch across.

Row 2: Ch 3 (this always counts as 1 DC) and turn. Rep *1 FPDC, 2 DC* across. The row should end with 1 DC in the last st.

Row 3: Ch 3 (this always counts as 1 DC) and turn. Rep *1 DC, 2 FPDC* across. The row should end with 1 DC in each of the last 2 st.

Rows 4-onward: Rep rows 2 and 3 for as long as youโ€™d like your project to be. End your project on a row 2 so that it looks neater. Once you reach the desired length, fasten off and cut the yarn.

If you spot any errors in the written pattern please do let me know.

Happy Crocheting!
