linear to lanceolate, up to 1 inch long
Flower: fragrant, showy, yellow flowers on terminal racemes
Bloom Period: late Spring - early Summer
Fruit: pod
Bark: rounded stems with green color; older stems become brown

stems have been shown to conduct photosynthesis

Sun: full sun to part shade
Soil: prefers dry, sandy, and infertile soils
