For most people, the idea of taking on a major project like a home renovation while pregnant is a boggling prospect, meaning that Mila Kunis is not most people. While carrying her and husband Ashton Kutcher's second child, Dimitri, late last year, Kunis undertook the task of renovating her parents' condo as a surprise. The home had been the family's since immigrating from the Ukraine when Kunis was 9, and, as Kunis explains, "It kind of looks like Miami Vice circa 1994," so it was in need of a slight spruce. Thankfully, Kunis didn't have to dive into the project solo, taking it on with an assist from Kutcher for the show My Houzz.
Still, professional help or no, nothing was going to stop Kunis from getting her hands dirty. In a preview of the episode, a heavily pregnant hard-hat-wearing Kunis is seen taking a sledgehammer to a wall, because, "If anyone is taking down that wall, it's me." Kutcher is still enlisted, however, to "do the heavy lifting." His reaction to the renovations? A very Dude, Where's My Car–flavored, "Whoaaaaaa."
The episode of My Houzz spans from the late stages of Kunis' pregnancy to after she welcomes her baby, or, as she puts it, "created a human." A beautifully renovated home and a new grandchild? Kunis' parents are really killing it on the domestic front, no doubt.
Kunis is the latest celeb to get the chance to surprise a loved one with a home makeover through My Houzz. Kutcher himself was on a previous installment, surprising his mom with her dream basement, while other episodes include Kristen Bell gifting her sister with an updated pad (presumably free of La-Z-Boy recliners) and Jenna Fischer also coming through for her sister.
