Israel, Galilee, Zippori National Park (Sepphoris), main road (Cardo)

The ancient city of Zippori (Sepphoris) was the administrative capital of the Galilee during Roman rule. Excavations have revealed A Roman theater, a Talmudic-era Jewish residential quarter, ritual baths, churches, and a Crusader fortress and an abundance of mosaics. The Roman street dates from the 2nd century AD, and was part of the network of streets. There were columns along the sides that created roofed porticoes, paved with mosaics.
