Magic Mushroom Afghan

The Magic Mushroom Afghan joins my family of DND afghans! DND means DONE ‘N DONE. When you put the last stitch in place, you have absolutely no additional finishing! Well… except to weave in the yarn end!

For all the ‘shroomers in the world, the stitch pattern combines rows of classic shells with rows of clusters to create the  illusion of mushrooms. Watch the video How to Crochet the Magic Mushroom Stitch Pattern for more details.

Designed to create repeating stripes without any waste,  choose 7 neutral colors to create this 48 by 60 inch blanket. The pattern requires 7 oz of each color and the afghan will use up nearly every inch of the 7 skeins! Voila, no leftover yarn!

You can use more or fewer colors but keep in mind you must use an odd number of colors and at least 3 colors to keep the mushrooms distinctive.

Crocheted in Red Heart In Love yarn, a readily available 4-ply acrylic yarn, and an H crochet hook, the afghan is easy-care and super durable!

Once you get the hang of it, the magic mushroom afghan is fast and easy-to-make! And when the last stitch is formed, you are DONE!

You may also like the Cockleshell afghan  and the Sticks and Stones afghan, too! Both of these afghans are crocheted in one solid color for speeding the crocheting along.
