Lakewood resident Eli Weinstien is being released from prison shortly, after having his sentence commuted by President Trump.
Weinstein served for approximately eight years out of a lengthy sentence.
Sources tell TLS this pardon was in the works for an extended period of time, with work on his behalf being done on multiple fronts.
Among those who worked on his release, were Askonim, officials, attorneys, as well as Hagaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Lakewood Rabbonim, the Boyanner Rebbe and others.
In addition, multiple former business partners including victims and adversaries of Weinstein had sent letters on his behalf requesting his pardon, for the sake of his family.
Trump announced clemency and pardons for approximately 150 people during his final hours of his term.

Baruch HaShem.
His offence was “only money” ; if he would have killed someone or if he would have been a drug dealer thus poisoned hundreds of teens he would have been out by now.
Agreed! I think that jails are for people who are a dangerous to society. All other crimes such as money, drugs etc should have monetary consequences (maybe even working for the state/country etc) It helped no one to put him & other offenders behind bars -just ruined his family while we footed the bill…
(I’m not commenting on this specific case as I’m not familiar with it- just in general…)
Frum people have no Effect on the National elections because NY and NJ are Blue States if you had Tens of Thousands of Frum Yidden living in Pennsylvania and Georgia then Trump could have won plus you would have cheaper Housing and Taxes with a more Wholesome living by living in these states
