Yarrow has soft, fern-like foliage. Because it spreads underground, it can make a nice groundcover in sunny locations--for the same reason, use caution when planting in a flowerbed.

Uses: groundcover, butterflies, showy flowers, deer tolerant
Bloom time: May - July

Height: 2 to 3 feet
Space: 1 to 2 feet

Sun: Full sun to light shade
Moisture: Dry to average

Seed: Some of the seed will germinate without special treatment, but a few weeks of cold, moist stratification is beneficial.
  • 178,250 seeds per ounce
  • 1 ounce per 6,000 square feet
