I had zero expectations but they have blown me away. The rooms are gorgeous with design. Everything is extremely clean. They thought of everything. This is a perfect place to reset. A break from the world. My husband and I fell in love with this place. We plan to be back!

Have no idea who is writing the five star reviews, I suspect it might be the owner herself. My husband and I were scheduled to stay for four nights at $500.00 a night last August. We got to the place and saw that we had been deceived by the pictures on the website. A fantastic photographer must have been hired to make the place look good when it's anything but. . The place looks nothing like the pictures! It's old, second hand furniture furnished, small and completely unappealing. The breakfast room is exactly the same. We literally walked away from $2000.00 because we could not bring ourselves to stay. The owner offered for us to come back if we wanted only during the week and within three months. There is great deception going on here. It is not what it appears. Be forewarned.

We stayed in the Treehouse room. Which was the only cool experience I had here. For the price of what we paid, I hoped it would be. So that's why I'm giving 3 stars. I just wish everything else was the same high quality of the room. When we checked in, we were only asked our name and what room. We weren't really told anything about services that were offered, like they tell you on their website. To get in and out of the main building where everything is, you need a passcode. So we kept having to knock on the door to get in, until someone finally gave us the code.
We were told breakfast would be delivered to us at our chosen time. We had to pick what we wanted a few days ahead with a menu they sent. Although breakfast sounded good on paper, it wasn't. We also added the extra $10 for coffee to be sent with breakfast, which was a total waste of money. I'm not sure what time breakfast arrived because no one actually notifies you, not even a knock on the door. So from 10-1030 we kept getting up to see if our breakfast was outside the door. In all honesty, I would skip the breakfast. The portions weren't as pictured on their website. The the fruit and yogurt were warm, the turkey sausage was going on cold, the juices were both warm as well and not drinkable. The French toast was kid sized. There is also no silverware in the room, so don't bring anything back unless you take plastic silverware.
All in all at almost $700 a night total, I would have stayed somewhere else with the same room. I've also had way better experiences and paid less a night.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Brittany & Tyler,
Thank you for writing about your visit & your compliments on our Tree House.
We are sorry that you did not seem to understand our pre arrival self check in instructions & did not use our extensive website for information. You were sent self check in instructions, links to VIP information as well as door codes to access our common areas. This information was sent to Tyler & we show that it was opened. Since we received your filled out breakfast menus, we assumed that you received these as well. Nicole greeted you on arrival, showed you the downstairs areas of the main building, offered you afternoon tea in the dining room & showed you the access door code.
We have staff available 24/7 to assist with guests needs and we do offer in person check ins for guests that would want that experience. We are always available for questions, suggestions for activities & bringing extra items needed to your door, one just needs to ask. You are also given a direct dial number to our resident innkeeper, who is always available for any guest need. Most guests stop by the kitchen or front desk to say hello & then ask if they need information or call our front desk during our front desk hours. Since we operate on the invisible service model we do rely on our website to provide information to guests, as it is contactless, always available & provides so much more than an in room binder. There is however a property map on your bed showing our river dock access, tea house, upper fountain terrace, lower terrace as well as guests parking.
Your Tree House was equipped with extra silverware, wine glasses, plates, as well as silverware being sent up with your breakfast & also with the additional add on coffee service. Regarding the $10 for this service, it goes directly to the team member who prepares this additional basket & makes a separate trip to your door, and in your case, in another building & on the third floor. This money does not go to management.
Also regarding breakfast delivery we call the room prior to delivery to say that your breakfast is on it's way up & we knock once we leave it. I spoke to the team members who prepared your breakfast they called the room, you did not answer & they knocked on the door when they were out side of your room. Perhaps you were on your balcony when they called & knocked.
Our apologies that your cold food was not cold enough & your hot food was not hot enough. We will look for better ways to insulate one from the other. We always get compliments on our breakfast basket from our wonderful guests, again our apologies that this was not the case for you. - Krin G.Manhattan, NY062Jan 28, 2022
Just about everything at this place was perfect: the breakfasts, the afternoon snacks, the fireplace, the comfortable bed, the little amenities sprinkled throughout. Even the bathrobes. They were so comfortable I ordered one to be delivered to our home. Diane and the staff were very attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. But if you want to keep to yourself, they leave you alone. For breakfast, you here a knock on the door, and when you open it, your meal is sitting just outside the door with no one around. The House is just a few feet away from the Delaware River, which provides a great view from most of the rooms. My wife and will definitely return.

My husband and I cannot say enough great things about our 3-nights stay at this lovely Inn with amazing river views! Staying here was the exactly the type of break we needed from our NYC daily life and 2 year old energy-filled little boy. The staff was so attentive, yet respectful of our privacy, which we loved. The daily breakfast was extremely delicious and cooked fresh to order, coffee was perfection, and their baked goods were to die for! The rooms were clean and well stocked with toiletries, and the butlers pantry downstairs stocked with snacks and drinks was such an beautiful touch, as I enjoy a late night cup of hot tea.
Furthermore, the surrounding towns from the Inn are beautiful and we enjoyed the beautiful views of land and gorgeous houses on the way to and from the Bridgeton.
I really wish I could rate this Inn with more than 5 stars, as it is evident that the entire staff here genuinely care for their guests and love the property they work on. We cannot wait to go back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We stayed in the garret room. I will say it was clean but very small. With a small balcony. Our balcony was not screened in so hard to sit out there with the mosquitoes. The room is very outdated to the point of creepy. Everything in the room is mismatched. I totally understand about Covid. But they definitely should have lowered their prices. They don't come in the room to do room service or rather maid service even if you're not here. You have to basically take out your own garbage take out your tray from breakfast and they leave you cleaning supplies to clean your own room. Seriously if I wanted to do all that I could've stayed home. We stayed two nights it was almost $750 it was so so not worth it. For not recommend to anybody.

Hi Theresa,
Sorry you did not like your visit. But it looks like according to all your other reviews that you are usually dissatisfied. We are happy then to have received 3 stars. The room is exactly as pictured online. Placing your breakfast tray outside your door is not meant to be a hardship, but a covid accommodation for you & our staff. We apologize that this was a chore for you. It is also stated very clearly on our website & in all communications with you that we have suspended maid service. This was something you agreed to before booking. Our rates for a weekend in high season in a waterfront room are inline with similarly appointed hotels in our area. - Liam K.Manhattan, New York, NY1511Dec 30, 2018
We had a great time staying at the Bridgeton house
The owner and staff were extremely sweet and accommodating. They were especially accommodating to a nut allergy. We highly recommend the Bridgeton House for a quiet weekend away!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Came here for a 3 night stay in room 8 and had a really great visit. Breakfast each morning was delicious and service was top notch. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and lounging by the fire pit at night. Room 8 is on the second floor, loved the bed and linens, but because this is an older place we could hear the early risers above us quite a bit. You can also hear traffic from the bridge which was annoying when we wanted to keep the balcony door open. But when closed, you hear very little traffic. Restaurants and wineries are close by to keep you occupied during the day and the staff is more than willing to make recommendations. Would love to come back and try out another room.
