Lemon Grass Plant

You will get two Live Lemon grass starters. Most images depict mature plant.

Widely used in oriental cooking for the swollen base of its edible stems, lemon grass makes a fountain of gently arching foliage that can eventually reach 5ft. Due to its tropical origins, this herb cannot stand frost, so should be grown in a container allowing it to be moved indoors after spending summer outdoors in a sunny position.

Each stick of lemongrass is rooted or rooting and cut back for shipping.

In the warmer months (March 15 though November 15th) you can expect green stalks. In the cooler months, they will be a little bit yellow, they look "half dead" during the winter. Each one can grow into a huge plume in a few short seasons. This variety is perennial and will turn a little brown with light frost. Grown in Florida without any pesticide.

Since it’s native to the tropics, this herb only survives as a perennial outdoors in plant hardiness Zones 10 and 11. If you live in Zone 9 or below, you can keep it perennial by bringing it inside during the winter.
