Millikin Wrestling Goes 3-0 at Chocolate Duals

The Millikin University wrestling team won all three of its duals to improve to 13-0 on the season at Chocolate Duals in Hersey, Pennsylvania.

Millikin defeated Delware Valley 28-12 in its opening match before defeating the hosting Messiah College 31-14. In its final dual the Big Blue defeated York College of Pennsylvania 37-6.

Millikin had five wrestlers win all three of their matches on the day. Millikin got a strong start to each dual with three wins from Tommy Russell at 125 and three wins from Zac Blasioli at 133 pounds. Russell is now 16-1 on the season. Blasioli, who is ranked 11th in the most recent NWCA Division III poll, improved to 14-2 on the year. Micah Downs picked up three wins at 184 to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Two Millikin wrestlers improved to 17-0 and on the season. Bradan Birt, who is nationally ranked second at 165, won two matches by fall and had a 10-2 major decision victory. Brayan Reyes won all three of his matches at 285 by fall. Reyes entered the day ranked 14th at 285.
