We scheduled a trip for seniors on their senior trip. Captain Burkett was great over the phone scheduling the trip and several calls because I was scheduling the trip but would not be there for the trip. Some of the group have never fished before so there was some concerns to ensure all would have a good time. You could not wipe the smiles from their faces when they got back to the dock. They all caught fish and all had a good time. The crew was great and the trip was well worth it for all. Thanks Captain Burkett and crew for a great trip!

Spent a 6 hour trip with Capt. BJ and James. What a great time. Fantastic crew, professional, clean comfortable boat. We caught our limit of fish. Even hooked a large shark, that was released. James the first mate was fantastic really friendly and worked super hard to make the fishing a great day. We will fish with Hook'em up, every time we come back to PCB!

We booked a charter for today but the tropical depression Barry put 9’ seas in our way. The Captain was so good at keeping us posted on the forecast that I appreciated his professionalism and great personality. Based on his honesty I will definitely use him next time.

So in multiple phone calls to set the trip up it was never mentioned that we would also be expected to pay cash for bait. Ok so bottom fishing requires bait, most charters to include bait in their chartering fees, of course it had to be cash also. Then we learned on the way in that the deck hand did not clean the fish. The fees for cleaning fish and bait or almost always included in the price of the charter, even Captain BJ agreed but said it was the Marina's rules.

I said maybe you should list that on the website or go over it when people set trips, we do a few charters a year and were quite disappointed we did not go with someone else. Also many other charters are set up to take photos and include them, we have done several charters that have given us photos and videos on a cd.

We have also never been on such a clock, lines up time to go, six lines in the water without hitting any limit. A simple next fish in the boat and we can make up the time, then the challenge of trying to deal with the fish cleaning. The fish were almost cleaned but we had to take skin off and remove bones, just suggest making sure you know what you are getting. Since the oddities specific to their charter rules were not discussed, if fish cleaning and bait or normally included and you do not you owe it to customers to explain. NO SURPRISES is a good policy.

We apologize that your trip did not meet your expectations and that there was some confusion regarding fish cleaning policy. Captain and crew are not allowed to clean customers fish. The catch can be taken to the market to be cleaned for 60 cents a lb or taken home by the customer whole. When hearing your concern about the cleaning fee the captain paid the cleaning expense which was a total of $40. Regarding live bait, we check our bait trap daily and always have plenty of cut/dead bait for all of our trips. In most cases customers are asked if they would like to purchase or catch additional bait on the way out depending on what the trap catches that morning. The crew was never made aware that you were unhappy about purchasing additional live bait. The perks of buying live bait verses catching live bait, is that it does not eat up valuable fishing time on the water. We do apologize that this was not explained thoroughly on your way out that morning. Our goal is always to keep the customer happy and catch plenty of fish for you to take home to your family and friends. If reimbursing you for the live bait would make you feel better about the trip please give us a call. We would be more than happy to reimburse you for the extra expense. We assume it was around $60. If there are any more questions regarding live bait and fishing cleaning options our website covers this in great detail under our FAQ page. Thankfully your group had a good catch on your half day trip. Some of our half day trips are not limiting our on snapper like you guys did. The limit is 2 Red Snapper per person in Florida. We do inform all who book with us that the longer trips are typically more successful in catching bag limits. We strive to have return customers, and many have been returning since 2004. Our reviews are important to us. If you would like to talk in person about your trip pleases give us a call so that we might be able to make it right. (850) 774-8333. Thanks, Hook'em Up Charters

This year was the second time I have been fishing with Hook em Up. As usual the boat was clean as a pen and nothing out of place. However, James the deck hand was trying way to hard. So hard that he pushed my Dad to the point he didn't even want to fish anymore. When the Captain was asked about it he did nothing. He also acted like he was doing us a favor by taking us fishing, and is not very personable to be in the guide business. I think from now on I will look elsewhere for a Captain who seems to be more outgoing and wants the customer to have a great time. I take customer fishing a lot and I would hate for them to get on this boat. As stated earlier the boat is in tip top shape and clean, but that is not all it takes to have a good experience. If anyone would like to know just how unprofessional the captain is please visit my link and listen to his voicemail that he left me. He said these things about my father who is a business owner and brought me up to respect others, but this is what the captain thinks of all of us.

Trip was good, carried a bunch of employees that had never been. James the deck hand was a smart a to my guys and myself as well. I personally had to help bait hooks and almost worked as hard as he did. There was 10 of us on that charter with 1 deck hand, therefore my guys spent most of our fishing time waiting on James to take the catch off. I offered to help but was quickly put in my place. It has been my experience that a great deckhand makes the trip fun. Cap, you need another hand. I will not go back or refer this boat.

Trip scheduled by Son who was getting married the next day.
Myself, son, and 5 of his crazy buddies made the trip.
Hope I get these names right??? Captain Jeremy and Mate Justin provided a very memorable 6 hour trip for the seven of us. Captain Jeremy advised us on bait selection and put us on the exact location to catch our preferred prey. Ended up with a limit of amberjack, quite a mess of triggerfish, a load of both vermillion and white snapper.
None of this could have been done with the excellent work of Mate Justin, who instructed us on procedure, baited hooks, unhooked fish, and made it easy on us. Thank you Captain Jeremy and Mate Justin for a fantastic trip.

Have been on many wonderful trips with Hook 'Em Up & Capt BJ Burkett over the years. A very family-friendly experience (my daughter has been going fishing with him since she was a teenager & loves it every time) The boat is always clean, well maintained and has excellent cold AC in the cabin- a welcome relief on those hot summer days. When you call you will speak with BJ himself, he is courteous , customer focused & he will always give best advice on what fish to target , weather conditions, everything you need to know.We always catch a lot of fish! Hook 'Em Up is always our 1st choice when we are booking a charter out of PCB

Hook'em Up Charters was able to accommodate my families needs. Every charter we tried within the 2 hour radius would not allow my toddler nieces (1 & 3) on their boat. But, with the help of Google, we came across captain BJ who welcomed us aboard.

I'm not a fisherman, but I enjoyed the trip. It was a new experience and I even caught a huge fish. As a matter of fact, my family of 6,
Caught the maximum amount of amberjacks.

Captain BJ put us directly on top of fish every time we would move to a new spot. We were pulling up fish faster than the deckhand, James could keep up.

Both, Captain BJ and deckhand James were very patient with our lack of knowledge and experience, as well as, crying kids. They were very helpful and always had an answer prepared for any question. If you want to catch fish with knowledgable fishermen I suggest these guys.
