Throw back!!
Get a call at 8am this morning from Lance Sanders & Brian Russell . Says I'm hooked up to a big sail fish in the kayak .
Hour later he calls back and said I need some help , brian done got flipped when he gaffed it and the gaff is gone. But the fish is still on!!! So I load the truck with 2 gaffs and
I'm off . 45min ride only took me 30mins 😂😂 Get to the pier paddle my ass a mile out in front of it and can't find them.
Brian had went back for the truck at this point so Lance was alone. ( Lance has never even hooked a smoker king from the yak . Let alone this sail fish. )
So after an HR of paddling looking for him . He calls me . Phones wet so cant here him good . But I here him say the city pier. I'm a mile and half in front of the county pier

So off I go to paddle all the way to the other pier . After what seemed like forever ... I finally see Lance . He had been on this fish for over 2 and half hrs by now . Face was as
red as his shirt !!!! I paddle up and he was ready for a break.
Hands me the rod and I fight it up 3 times (15mins )
And it seems tired enough for me to put the gaff in it. I gaffed it. It goes completely crazy and I got the gaff in one hand and the side of the kayak with the other just holding
on !! Lance is like what's your game plan. .
Truly I had no game plan 😂.
Just tacos on my mind !! So 3 mins of ooooooshit I'm gonna die later it calms down and I load it in the yak with me and we paddle off , fishermen of the sea and our tacos
in hand !! Soowooo!!!!
