Spectrum selected this as a representative review
I've been employed with Spectrum for 3.5 years. It's a company I plan to retire from. I've been nothing but impressed with the level of service, professionalism and overall vision of the company. I've been fortunate to witness.

Steady

Always about numbers never about the employee . The numbers were never good enough even when it was things out of your control. Like travel time or elderly customers that took more time to comprehend it was still your fault.

Awesome company and their employee appreciations is shown within the benefit package

This company has a wide range of benefits that includes very good compensation for everyone no matter what you are trying to invest in. Very patient with the disgruntled customers and do their best to ease their worries or concerns.

Good place to work

I wholeheartedly recommend working for Spectrum. The work is gratifying and the pay is commensurate with the experience you bring to the workplace. Not too difficult and good management.

Customer service

The best part of the job is when you quit! Too many calls, angry customers, depression, low wages, poor management, poor work environment. One positive is free cable.

Worst place I’ve ever worked

Fake phony two faced jerks that walk around while you’re on the phones looking at what you’re doing to make sure you’re actually working it felt like I was being watched by the gestapo

Great job with structure

40 hour work week with a good structure and great team. I would recommend to anybody with a good work ethic. I have met lots of great people here and the managers are all fair and nice to work with. If you're thinking about it, I would say just do it. If you follow their thorough training program and implement what is taught you will do very well here!

Pros

Good people, good pay, and benefits

Cons

Phone calls can feel isolating

Mediocre at best.

It’s door to door sales which is the bad part, the good part is you’re your own boss. The people that I worked around were excellent and very professional!

Supportive and fun

The training was great, where it should be. Unfortunately the job is just not for me. If you are comfortable making calls back to back, this is your job. Albanys location had a great vibe

Great pay and benefits

Call centers are boring and repetitive but the pay is good. You sometimes have rude customers but they are upset with the company not you. Commission is great and so are the benefits. Would rather work in a call center than retail or fast food any day.

Good entry level job

A lot of favoritism in this company worked here for 2 years as a sales rep constant turnover constant call outs micro managed they changed the commission pay I was literally making 1200 in commissions every single month they switched to the new structure making way less

They set you up to fire you

This company is a joke. I worked there for a year....which is the going rate there. They build you up during training, give you a couple months on the floor before telling you how bad you are doing. Constantly changing sales rules so they have a reason to let you go. If they offer for you to work at home just know you have a month before you are let go. They don't like when you make higher than $3,000 in commission. Once I started making $8,000 they decided I was doing everything wrong. Make that make sense.

Pros

None

Cons

Management

9 Hour Prison Sentence 5 Days a Week

Back-to-back calls all day, everday. No time for breathing. No time to make freinds with co-workers. Non-consequtive days off.Micro-managing and no freedom.

Pros

Decent pay for those without a degree

Cons

You will lose your sanity

Fun place to work

My direct report who was the Senior Director was amazing. The managers were so good to everyone. I was privileged to work with some of the best technicians as well.

Was fun

Great management and coworkers, pay could be better, job itself frankly was not the best for me but I can see people wanting to be a part of the team at Spectrum and finding fulfilling careers.

Not great/Not horrible

Typical job. Sales just kind of come at you, not much hard work. However, very unprofessional management/co-workers. The setting should be more professional for what it is, but definitely feels like a gossipy/high-school situation, including management.
